My Story

The Life I Didn’t Plan For

I didn’t choose to leave my job. Life chose for me.

When my baby arrived and there was no one to help — no hands, no backup, no one to call — I found myself at home with a newborn and a future that looked nothing like what I had imagined. I had spent years building a career, managing teams, learning how businesses work from the inside out. I was good at it. I liked being capable.

And then, overnight, I was just a mom at a kitchen table, not sure what came next.

Honestly? It was scary. And quiet. And a little lonely.

But somewhere in those uncertain hours, I opened my laptop and started designing. Not because I had a business plan. Not because I saw an opportunity. Just because it was the one thing that felt like mine.

Confucius once said something that has stayed with me ever since I first read it as a girl: “To know something is not as good as loving it. To love it is not as good as finding joy in it.”

That’s what happened at that kitchen table. I found my joy. And slowly, one printable at a time, I built something real.

Why I Do This

Here’s the thing about most printables — they look amazing in photos and fall flat in real life. You download them, open the file, and then just stare at a beautiful blank page with no idea what to do next.

I got frustrated with that. So I started making something different.

Every product at SmilelineCo is a complete system. A savings tracker paired with real money-saving strategies. A kids’ chore chart with age-appropriate ideas already built in. A reading log that helps you actually retain what you read. The idea behind it is something I borrowed from an old Chinese proverb: “If you want to do good work, first make sure you have good tools.”

I take that seriously. I want you to open the file, print the page, and think — okay, I can actually do this. Right now. Today.

That’s the whole point.

Who I Make This For

When I sit down to design, I’m not thinking about a generic customer. I’m thinking about real people. People I recognize. People like you, maybe.

The mom who is doing everything. You are raising kids, holding the household together, and somewhere in the margins of all that, you are trying to build something for yourself too. Nobody warned you it would be this much. I see you. I made this for you — because honestly, I am you.

The person whose brain works differently. If you have ADHD, planning can feel like a battle with yourself. Too much visual noise, too many steps, too easy to lose the thread. I design with simplicity as a priority, so that your tools actually cooperate with how your mind works instead of fighting it.

The one trying to get a handle on money. Whether you are paying off debt, trying to save for the first time, or just wondering where on earth your paycheck keeps disappearing to — I have systems that make finances feel less overwhelming and a lot more doable.

The career builder and lifelong learner. You are ambitious. You read, take notes, set goals, and want to keep growing. You need pages that can keep up with you. These are for you.

The one looking for a little more stillness. In a world that never slows down, you are building quiet rituals for yourself — morning prayers, gratitude practices, moments that bring you back to what matters. These pages hold space for exactly that.

The writer, the reader, the thinker. You live on paper. You need somewhere to capture your ideas before they disappear. I made pages for minds like yours.

If you saw yourself anywhere in that list, then you are exactly who I had in mind.

What You Will Find Here

Printables for the real, ordinary, important moments of everyday life.

The Sunday afternoon you finally sit down to sort out your budget. The new school year when you want to actually show up for your kids. The quiet morning you are trying to build one small new habit. The holiday season you want to enjoy instead of just survive.

Everything here is designed with care, tested in my own planner, and made to be used — not just saved in a folder somewhere and forgotten. Not just beautiful. Actually useful.

A Little More About Me

When I am not designing, you will find me reading classical Chinese philosophy, thinking about economics, or sharing this whole journey online — the wins, the learning curves, and everything in between.

There is a line from Laozi that I come back to often, especially on the days when things feel slow or uncertain. He said: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

I started this with nothing but a baby on my lap, a laptop, and a lot of time I hadn’t planned for. That first step was enough.

I am still walking. I am so glad you are here walking alongside me.
