My Story

The Life I Didn’t Plan For

I didn’t choose to leave my job. Life chose for me.

When my baby arrived and there was no one to help, no backup, no one to call, I found myself at home with a newborn and a future that looked nothing like what I had imagined.

I had spent years building a career, managing teams, and learning how businesses worked from the inside out. I was good at it. I liked being capable.

And then, almost overnight, I was a mom at a kitchen table, staring at a very different kind of future.

Honestly? It was scary. And quiet. And sometimes a little lonely.

But somewhere in those uncertain hours, I opened my laptop and started designing.

Not because I had a perfect business plan. Not because I had everything figured out.

I simply wanted to make something that felt like mine.

One page became another. One small idea became a product. And slowly, one printable at a time, I started building something real.

Looking back, I think I found something I hadn’t been looking for.

A way to turn an unexpected chapter of my life into something useful.

Why I Do This

Here’s what always bothered me about many printables:

They look beautiful in photos, but sometimes they don’t actually help you do anything.

You download them, open the file, and then stare at a beautiful blank page wondering:

Okay… now what?

I wanted to make something different.

Something practical.

Something that gives you a little direction instead of creating another thing to figure out.

A savings tracker should help you actually save. A family planner should make a busy week easier to see. A reading log should help you remember what you read. A habit tracker should make the next small step feel manageable.

There’s an old Chinese saying I’ve always loved:

“A craftsman who wants to do good work must first sharpen his tools.”

I think good tools matter.

Not because they magically change your life, but because the right tool can make taking the next step a little easier.

That’s what I want every SmilelineCo product to do.

Not just look good. Actually help.

Who I Make This For

When I sit down to design, I’m not thinking about a generic customer.

I’m thinking about real people with real lives.

The person carrying a lot.

Maybe you’re raising kids, managing a household, working a job, building a business — or somehow doing several of those things at once.

You don’t need another complicated system.

You need something that makes life feel a little easier to hold.

The person who feels overwhelmed by too much.

Too many tabs. Too many lists. Too many things floating around in your head.

I believe planning tools should create clarity, not more visual noise.

That’s why simplicity is at the heart of what I make.

The person trying to get a better handle on money.

Maybe you’re paying down debt.

Maybe you’re trying to build your first emergency fund.

Maybe you’re saving for something that matters.

Or maybe you’re simply wondering where your paycheck went.

Money can feel overwhelming when everything lives in your head. Putting it on paper can be a surprisingly good place to start.

The person building something.

A career. A business. A new habit. A healthier routine. A more intentional life.

You have ideas and goals, but you also have a lot going on.

You need tools that can keep up.

The person who still likes paper.

Maybe you love writing things down.

Maybe putting pen to paper helps you think.

Maybe you simply like the feeling of checking something off a list.

I’m one of those people, too.

If you saw yourself somewhere in this list, you’re probably exactly who I had in mind.

What You’ll Find Here

Printables for the ordinary, important moments of everyday life.

The Sunday afternoon when you finally sit down to sort out your budget.

The new school year when you want to feel a little more prepared.

The quiet morning when you’re trying to build one small habit.

The month when you decide you’re finally going to start saving.

The busy season when you need somewhere to put everything down on paper.

These are small moments.

But small moments add up.

That’s why I make tools for them.

Every SmilelineCo product is designed to be practical, simple to use, and easy to bring into your everyday routine.

Not something beautiful that gets saved in a folder and forgotten.

Something you can print, put on your desk, and actually use.

A Little More About Me

When I’m not designing, you’ll probably find me reading about classical Chinese philosophy, thinking about economics and business, or sharing what I’m learning along the way.

I’ve always been fascinated by the way small ideas can change the way we see our money, our work, and our lives.

There’s a line from Laozi that I come back to often:

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

I started this chapter with a baby on my lap, a laptop on the table, and a lot of time I hadn’t planned for.

I didn’t know exactly where that first step would lead.

I just took it. And I’m still taking the next one.

I’m glad you’re here.
