Description
I made this weight loss challenge printable after a family dinner, when I realized a big number feels much lighter once it’s cut into small pieces. (I wrote about that evening here if you’re curious.)
The idea is simple. You write down your starting weight and your goal weight, subtract, and the page shows you how much there is to lose. Then there are exactly 20 squares to share it between: divide the amount by 20, and that’s what each square is worth.
Using this weight loss challenge printable
Say your goal is 10 lb (or 10 kg, the page doesn’t mind which). Each square is worth 0.5. Whenever you reach one, color it in and step to the next. There’s a START square at one end, a FINISH square at the other, and a winding path in between, so it feels a bit like a board game instead of a to-do list.
Weigh in weekly, monthly, or whenever you feel like it. Nothing on the page tells you how fast to go. There’s only a line for the day you began and a line for the day you finished.
Three ways to use it
- A sprint: set a small goal and finish the path in a few weeks
- A slow burn: keep the page in your planner and color a square only when you reach one
- With a friend: print two copies and swap updates once a month
There’s no correct pace. The path just waits for you.
What’s in the download
- One zip file with two PDFs: an A4 version and an A5 version
- The A5 file is set up for double-sided printing, handy for a small planner or notebook
- Instant download after checkout, nothing is posted to you
- In the US? Print the A4 file with “fit to page” for Letter paper
- Print as many copies as you need for your own use
A couple of honest notes
I’m a designer, not a doctor, so this page is a way to keep track of your own progress and isn’t health advice. If you’re changing how you eat or exercise, it’s worth talking to someone you trust who knows about that. The files are for personal use only, so please don’t resell or share them.
Pick a color you like. One square at a time is a perfectly good speed.
